Meet Anna Sirba, Rooms Division Manager at Harbour Hotels.
What are your superpowers?
I am very orientated toward goal and productivity, focused and have excellent attention to detail. I don’t give up, no matter how complicated circumstances may appear. I like to move at an extremely fast pace and see the end results as soon as possible. I enjoy to take lots on and enjoy to be busy. I also always keep inspired and motivated, despite any difficulties or complications that can occur.
How do your strengths play into the work you do?
I’m always stuck somewhere between being very proud of achieving great results and thinking that now I have to go a little harder and be better. But not everything is about the bottom-line. Being busy and in charge keeps me motivated and happy. I love to be involved in lots of different projects and love to make things happen. I may start by juggling five different things simultaneously at the same time, and then as soon as I feel comfortable with the pace and see results, I will pick up another three or five.
Imagine your best hotel experience – what does it look like?
I love luxury hospitality, luxury and boutique hotel service is where I come from and where I belong. Friendly and effortless, I love the attention to detail and always notice every little thing. Every small detail and element adds value and makes the most significant difference to me. I really appreciate a personal touch, whether its a stay for business or leisure. I love places with character and style. My best hotel experience is seamless and personalized from the start of the booking, clean and bright bedrooms with lots of detail in a hotel that pays attention to sustainability and innovation.
What brings you the greatest joy at work?
Sharing knowledge and seeing people achieving outstanding results. Excellent guest feedback and, of course, making profits and exceeding all possible targets. I really enjoy transfering my expertise and see people developing their skills and thriving at work.
Your advice for women in hospitality and travel-tech?
Be authentic, don’t be afraid to speak up, but also listen to others. I love the quote, “those who don’t listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say.” Don’t stop learning and improving and do what you feel you need to do even if somebody tries to tell you that you not ready. Be confident about yourself. Don’t stop yourself because you think you are not good enough or lack some kind of knowledge or experience. You will learn along the way. “Self-confidence is a superpower. Once you start to believe in yourself, the magic starts happening”.
