March is Women’s History Month

As we learned on our first meet and greet in February our UK & Ireland members are very passionate about celebrating Women’s Day. As a response we would like to not only focus on a single day the 8th March, but the month as a whole with March being Women’s History Month globally.

We would like you to join us in celebrating women’s histories past and present, by visiting a special online exhibition curated by the Museum of London. You can browse a vast collection of interesting and inspiring articles, videos and much more.

We were specifically drawn to the section about Women’s Stories from London history. Glenda enjoyed reading about the first female staff members at Sainsbury’s. Whereby Erika was surprised by the fierce nature of women back in the early 1900’s, protecting themselves with simple everyday items such as a Hatpin.

We both find ourselves returning to this online exhibition for our bedtime reads or weekend relaxation and hope you will also find it as entertaining as we did.

Please let us know about your favourite stories or artefacts and share your feedback with us in a comment with #WERAIZUPUKI.

Enjoy exploring,

Erika and Glenda

Although I am very drawn towards the flirting fan my fav is the picture of father and son, who supports the suffragette wife.
